We are likely to face distorted views from people who don't play SM because they believe SM is part of abuse and dangerous. SM is dangerous, however, it isn't abuse.

This poem shows the difference between the two and how we, SM players take care each other and love this Art de Vivre.


ABUSE VS SM

Abuse is war, SM is play.
Abuse is desecration, SM is worship.
Abuse is tyranny, SM is cooperation.
Abuse is violence, SM is lovemaking.
Abuse is vandalism, SM is art.
Abuse is isolation, SM is community.
Abuse takes, SM gives.
